The authors describe the Nature's Way-Our Way initiative, implemented in early childhood education centres across Saskatchewan. The initiative grounds physical literacy and risky play in Indigenous games, activities, cultural connections, and traditional teachings. The authors discuss how the strengths of Indigenous Knowledges are braided together with western knowledge in ways that support Indigenous self-determination and sovereignty to foster physical activity and wholistic health of young Indigenous children and across the lifespan.
